かゆみをさらに増強します。
つまり、かくと一層かゆくなってしまうのです。
したがって、気持ちいいからといって、かきむしるのは禁物です。
保湿剤を塗ったり、抗ヒスタミン薬のような「かゆみ止めの薬」を使い、
できるだけ刺激しないようにすることが大切です。
ただし、かゆみによっては、抗ヒスタミン薬が効かないタイプもあります。
アトピー性皮膚炎のような免疫異常や、
内臓疾患が原因となる中枢性のかゆみです。
こうしたかゆみは、放置していると繰り返したり、悪化することになりかねません。
かゆみにもいろいろなタイプがあることを知って、
きちんとした対処法、解消法を覚えておきましょう。
かゆみの原因は乾燥肌？
かゆみの原因で最も多いのが、乾燥によるものです。
中高年になると肌の保湿性が低下し、
いわゆる「乾燥肌」になりやすいので、
予防のためには日常のスキンケアが必要になります。
肌を洗うときに、ナイロンタオルなどにせっけんを付けて、
ゴシゴシこすっていませんか。
せっけんの成分が皮脂をうばうだけでなく
こすることで肌を荒らしてしまいます。
さらにお風呂上がりに、バスタオルでゴシゴシと拭くのはNGです。
とくに男性にはタオルで強くこする人が多いのですが、
乾燥と肌荒れの大きな要因となるので気を付けましょう。
